Julian Sarkadi is the Director of Strategic Partnerships, APAC for Checkout.com. Checkout.com’s mission is to enable businesses and their communities to thrive in the digital economy. At its most recent fundraising round in January 2022, Checkout.com was valued at $40bn, making it the UK’s most valuable venture-backed business.

Julian has spent well over a decade in Asia developing public and private partnerships across the region. He is focussed on building and leveraging value-adding partnerships in ANZ/APAC to grow Checkout.com's footprint and success throughout the region.

Prior to joining Checkout.com, Julian was leading GTM strategy and Partnerships in APAC for the NYSE-listed ecommerce fraud prevention company, Riskified, having established their Shanghai office in 2020. Julian was also the Co-Chair of the APAC chapter of the MRC Advisory Board. Julian also previously worked as a lawyer and investment banker in Singapore and Hong Kong.
Originally from Sydney, Australia, Julian completed an LLB (Hons) and BA (International Studies) at the University of Technology, Sydney, and undertook Chinese language and culture studies at Zhejiang University in Hangzhou. Julian also received a scholarship from the Department of Foreign Affairs of Australia to study Trade and Economics at the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing. Julian is fluent in Mandarin, Chinese.
